A bright spot for those under 18 who want to officiate is this:

• CAHOA will be waiving our association dues for all Level I & Level II officials ages 18 & under.  Registration form will still be required minus the dues payment
• CAHOA will reimburse Level I officials ages 18 & under for their 20/21 USA Hockey registration fees once the following conditions are met:
  • Official meets all requirements to be certified as a Level I referee
  • Official provides a copy of their card to the CAHOA Treasurer (Ron Groothedde)
  • Official completes 5 shadowing sessions where they are the observer, not the official.  CAHOA will plan to pay the new official in their reverse shadowing role at the normal game fee rate for the level officiated. (Schedulers will need to be sure to add them to the game in order to receive payment)
  • Official works their first youth (18U and below) hockey game in which they would receive normal game dues
