Program Services
GSYHA offers ice hockey skills development and organized competition. As part of our requirement for maintaining non-profit, tax exempt status we report financials for the following three programs: 1) Player Development; 2) League Competition; 3) Tournament Competition.

Following are the youth divisions (levels of play) and associated programs. Even if you've never played hockey you must register at the appropriate age level. You're never too old to start.

* Tournament participation relies on donations.

** IP (Initial Player or Introductory Program) is a learn-to-play program teaching basic stick handling and skating skills. IPs will eventually play small games amongst themselves. This program is typically for new players, 7 and under, who will progress to Mites the following season. First time skaters should enroll in Glenwood Springs Community Center Learn-to-Skate program prior to entering the IP program.

*** The Rec program is for hockey enthusiasts who do not wish to be part of a traveling competitive team. New skaters should enroll in the Glenwood Springs Community Center Learn-to-Skate program prior to entering GSYHA Recreational Program. Players age 16 and 17 should not participate in this program but instead play drop-in adult hockey with the Glenwood Springs Recreation Department drop-in program (requires parent consent and waiver).
